CBD. What the heck is it, what does it stand for and why is everyone talking about it.
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a primary compound in the cannabis plant that has the potential to provide relief to a wide variety of symptoms.
CBD interacts with your body through balancing and regulating the endocannabinoid system which monitors everything from sleep to stress. Just like your neurotransmitters (like serotonin and dopamine) are chemical messengers of the nervous system. Endocannabinoids are the messengers of the endocannabinoid system (ECS), and are produced throughout your body. The ECS can be thrown off balance quiet easily causing an array of issues. CBD (Cannabidiol) helps support and balance your ECS.
CBD does not get you high. Although CBD is extracted from the hemp plant it is not the same as marajuana. Some CBD can contain up to 0.3% THC but that is not enough to get you high.
Heres why I'm taking CBD oil daily and sticking to it:
Imagine yourself near the ocean watching the most beautiful sunset with orange and yellow tones covering the sky.
You’re smiling with pure joy and happiness of the simple things in life.
You feel increased energy and pure happiness all around as the sun sets before the start of a beautiful new day.
Thats how CBD makes me feel.
Increased energy and focus. More happiness and joy like how I feel when I watch the sunset over the ocean. Peaceful. No worries. Nowhere to be. CBD is a great tool for helping you live your best life and be content and joyful in the moment!
I started taking CBD to help with my anxiety. Anxiety is something that is new to me, I've only struggled with it for a few years and I heard CBD could help so I gave it a shot. I had to try a few different brands before I found one that actually worked (for me). But when I did finally find that one thats when I started noticing all the difference! And I didn't just notice a difference in my anxiety.
I started using CBD for many things! When Aunt Flow comes to town and cramps are unbearable, CBD to the rescue for some relief! Or when I'm having too many sleepless nights, hello CBD to help me sleep sounder. Traveling can be stressful, especially if you fear flying like me! I don't think I can ever fly without CBD again. It calms me down so much before flight or travel. My body doesn't go into flight or fight mode and I don't have an anxiety attack while flying when I load up on CBD.
When I take it in the mornings I notice a very calm steady mood all day long. If anxiety starts to pop up I'll take some more CBD to help calm my nerves. Its not a cure all but if you struggle with anxiety, flight anxiety, sleepless nights, period cramps - you know even some relief is relief! These are just a few of the main things CBD has helped me with. Below is a much larger list of the said benefits!
Studies have shown that CBD can help improve:
Acne
Anxiety
Appetite
Depression
Digestion
Heart Health
Pain Relief
Epilepsy
Memory
Nerve Function
Inflammation
Sleep
Stress
AND MORE!
Broad or Full Spectrum?
I prefer Full Spectrum 10/10 times. The main difference between broad and full spectrum is that broad spectrum does not contain any trace of THC. Full Spectrum CBD contains up to 0.3% THC making it much more effective than broad spectrum. However! Even though Full contains a trace amount of THC, it still CAN NOT GET YOU HIGH.
Full Spectrum maximizes the benefits CBD provides because it combines other cannabinoids found in the plant which gives a higher therapeutic benefit.
A few tips for taking CBD:
CBD loves fat and is best absorbed when taken with fatty foods. (MCT or coconut oil is often added to tinctures which is best)
You can take it any time of the day but I like to take mine in the morning first thing to feel the effects throughout the day.
Hold it under your tongue for a minute or longer for the best absorbency.
Go for higher MG tinctures. I stared at 250 MG and felt nothing. Then I tried a 500MG and could feel some difference. But when I tried 1000MG thats when I truly noticed a difference!! 1000MG tinctures are the best IMO because you can still take a smaller dosage of the tincture to only get 1/2 the MG if wanted.
You feel the effects of CBD better when it builds up in your system. I recommend taking for 30-45 days before deciding if it works for you.
If taking for sleep, up your dosage.
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS look for third party tested, organic CBD or bust.
Stay away from companies that claim they heal or guarantee results.
*It isn’t possible to truly predict what reaction you’ll have without self-experimentation. These tips are what work for me. CBD may respond different to each individual.
*I am not a medical professional or doctor. Please consult your doctor before taking if you are on other medications, pregnant or breastfeeding.
