Crescent Pizza Rolls


My childhood dreams have come true : healthified pizza rolls!!!!


Why are these "healthified"? They still contain cheese and gluten but they don't contain all the extra additives. Plus they're made at home with LOVE.


Just look at the ingredients in normal pizza rolls below:


Enriched Flour (wheat flour, niacin, ferrous sulfate, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), Tomato Puree (water, tomato paste), Water, Imitation Mozzarella Cheese(water, palm oil, modified corn starch, vegetable oil [soybean, high oleic soybean and/or canola oil], rennet casein, salt, sodium aluminum phosphate, potassium chloride, citric acid, guar gum, potassium sorbate [preservative], sodium citrate, sodium phosphate, titanium dioxide [artificial color], maltodextrin, magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, Vitamin A palmitate, riboflavin, Vitamin B12), Vegetable Oil (soybean, high oleic soybean and/or canola oil), Imitation Mozzarella Cheese (water, palm oil, rennet casein, modified potato starch, vegetable oil [soybean, high oleic soybean and/or canola oil], potato starch, vital wheat gluten, sodium aluminum phosphate, potassium chloride, salt, citric acid, potassium sorbate [preservative], sodium phosphate, sodium citrate, titanium dioxide [artificial color], maltodextrin, magnesium oxide, zinc oxide, riboflavin, Vitamin A palmitate, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12). Contains less than 2% of: Rehydrated Fat Free Mozzarella Cheese (water, skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, citric acid, Vitamin A palmitate, Vitamin B), Sugar, Modified Corn Starch, Salt, Modified Whey, Defatted Soy Flour, Spice, Methylcellulose, Onion Powder, Rehydrated Enzyme Modified Cheese (water, milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), Dextrose, TBHQ (preservative), Natural Flavor.


THATS A LOT OF INGREDIENTS!!!!

and 90% of them are going to harm your health. Corn starch, modified Whey (GMO), vegetable oil, soybean oil, canola oil, preservatives, more vegetable oil. EH. no thank you. (of course its okay to indulged once in awhile).


BUT why not make these delicious, doughy, homemade, 3 ingredient pizza rolls?! They are better than the real thing, I can promise you that.


Recipe below.


I prefer annies or immaculate baking crescent rolls. Neither are gluten free but they have much less, and healthier ingredients than what is listed above.



INGREDIENTS:


Crescent rolls of choice (I used immaculate baking)

Mozzarella Cheese (can sub for vegan mozz)

Mini Uncured Pepperoni (can also sub for vegan)

Oregano

Garlic powder

Pizza sauce for dipping




DIRECTIONS:


Open crescent package and unroll crescents onto a baking sheet.

Top the wide part of the crescent with a mozzarella cheese (about 1/2 tbsp - 1 tbsp of cheese)

Then add 4-5 mini pepperonis on top of the cheese.

Roll them up.

Sprinkle the tops with garlic powder and oregano.

Bake according to package.

Serve with pizza sauce for dipping and enjoy!
