Updated: Nov 10, 2020

Something about French Toast takes me back to my childhood and reminds me of happiness and family. For some reason I always thought it was such a hard thing to make but it is actually surprisingly easy and quick!!! You'll be so pleased with this recipe and how easy it is to make a gourmet meal at home!

Wow your friends or family with this one. You can always up the amount of bread and egg mixture for more people! This recipe easily feeds 2-3 people.

You can use any bread but I love using Angelic Bakehouse for this because it makes it even more flavorful!

Whats special about their bread is its...

vegan, nut free, non GMO and sprouted! I love that their products are made from whole grains that have started to sprout, a process that adds a whole bunch of extra flavor and nutritional benefits!

Angelic Bakehouse sprouts their grains and even fresh presses them directly into their dough to really bring out the flavor. This process makes the grains a little sweeter, and there is never use any refined sugar!

DIRECTIONS:

In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup and vanilla

Add cinnamon and nutmeg and whisk again

Pour egg mixture in a shallow bowl or a baking pan

Soak both sides of bread slices in mixture

Heat stove to medium high heat and drizzle avocado oil on the bottom of the pan

Cook each side of toast for about 3-6 minutes or until browned to your liking on each side. Flip occasionally until to your liking.

Once finished, removed all bread from pan and cut into slices.

Place the bread back into the pan to sear the insides for 1-2 more minutes.

Top with your favorite toppings (I used banana, walnut, coconut whip, maple syrup and a cinnamon sugar mixture made with 1/2 tbsp coconut sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.
